Happy New Year

The cows came away unscathed, but the sheep on the other hand... Mor. seems to be the happening place on New Years.
There were approximately 5 million sheep sacrificed in Mor. on New Year's Eve and with prices going up this year, to an average of $350 for an average sized sheep, that's alot of spending! (Especially when that's about an average monthly salary here)But on the other side of the region, there seems to be a need of some training on how the sacrifice is actually done because there were some injuries over the holiday.

Yeah, you guys have missed all the fun. There was this thick grey haze you could dish out with a serving spoon of blackened sheep head debris that covered the city...the city is still pretty quiet actually.

In truth, there is something quite inhumane about the traditional Islamic method of killing animals. It's prescribed by hadith and Qur'an that you have to slit the throat, let the blood drain out- but there are far kinder ways of killing, more commonly done now in the West, involving a lot less pain for the animal, and they are a lot quicker. You've seen the animal thrashing around I'm sure when it's being killed. The method made sense I'm sure 1500 years ago when we had less technology and scientific methods; now we have ways that are far superior. Unfortunately the Qur'an does not allow for flexibility or updates, any more.

I have no problem killing animals; meet is good, these canines were made for something special, and my ancestors obviously made a regular diet of it. But whenever we kill it should be done with a minimum of pain, recognizing our grave responsibility as stewards of the Earth.

Why did Abdul Muhib's ancestors eat dog meat?

Eating canines...is it humane to feast on puppies?
